The University of Queensland Research Computing Centre (RCC) is working with UQ's Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis (CMM) to deploy a research data management (RDM) solution to help its researchers handle large amounts of data from scientific instruments.

RCC and CMM are using Clowder, a customisable and scalable data management framework for structured and unstructured data developed by the US National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA).

Dr Rubbiya Ali from UQ and Dr Hoang Nguyen project lead and ACCS team member gave a talk on the development of Pitschi to the Microscopy Australia community at the webinar in the “All things data” series on June 23rd 2022.

Here you can access their presentation slides and video recording.

Pitschi: Particle Image depoT using Storage Caching Infrastructure

  • Pitschi is present in 18 instruments at CMM

  • Many projects using two cryoEMsare configured for Pitschi

  • Regular training is available

  • More development is on the way

    • To integrate Pitschiwith processing platforms such as CVL, IPP

    • To export Pitschidatasets to external services (Space)
