ACCS at the eResearch Australasia 2022 Conference

October 26, 2022

The eResearch Australasia Conference provides an exciting opportunity for delegates to engage, connect and share their ideas and exemplars concerning new information-centric research capabilities, and how ICT technologies can help researchers to collaborate, collect, manage, share, process, analyse, find, understand and reuse information.

This year the eResearch conference was delivered in a hybrid format, with the in-person component of the event held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Australian Characterisation Commons at Scale (ACCS) project delivered over 5 different talks across all work packages.

Also, the WP6 team (Scattering and Beyond) Varvara Efremova and James Wilmot poster featuring opendata.fit was highly commended amongst a large number of other impressive posters.

It was incredibly rewarding being part of the eResearch Australasia Conference.

Special thanks to Prof. Paul Bonnington for providing the camera to capture this important moment.
October 19th 2022 - ACCS, first “ever” in-person gathering.

Throughout that week, ACCS delivered six talks across all work packages. These allowed us to showcase not just the amazing work that has been developing since the project kicked off but also the incredible collaborations and partnerships that have grown since February 2020. We also featured all the tools and capabilities that have been leveraged within the project and the potential they have in the near future.

Please join us in congratulating the team for representing their institutions and ACCS with such passion and professionalism. Also a huge congratulations to the WP6 (Scattering & Beyond) team, Varvara Efremova and James Wilmot for their highly commended poster featuring the opendata.fit platform.

Last but not least, the biggest takeaway from the eResearch week was that it provided the opportunity to attend the conference in person, meet some of our stakeholders and the chance to enjoy a nice meal together as a team. We appreciate that it wasn't easy for everyone to join us in Brisbane and we hope another opportunity like this comes up again, so we are all able to meet. In the meantime, enjoy the snapshot of the night!
